Student Graphic Designer

Job Duties: The student graphic designer position supports Invent@NMU clients and employee team through internal and external graphic design tasks, including developing graphic and visual images for product illustrations, logos, websites, and advertisements and creating images that identify a product, brand, or convey a message.  The position is also responsible for creating graphics for social media platforms, events, digital signs, newsletters, or other promotional materials as needed. Responsible for meeting deadlines and contributing to the team in a variety of supportive functions as needed, such as participating in special events and meetings, updating websites, and taking photos and videos. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Talented graphic designer with a professional edge and the ability to develop varying content for a variety of audiences.

-Ability to accept, respond to, and provide feedback within a multi-disciplinary team.

-Strong communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) skills are essential, along with the ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments.

-Attention to detail, initiative, creativity, and proactive thinking is essential to drive the program’s innovative culture.

-Must be knowledgeable in or have the ability to learn a variety of software platforms, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google suite for practical application.

-Website design and development and photography skills are highly beneficial

-Solid organizational and time management skills are required, along with the willingness to learn.

Project-Based Student Photographer and Videographer

Job Duties: The project-based student photographer and videographer position supports Invent@NMU clients and employee team through internal and external photography and videography, including developing digital images and video for client products or brands, websites, social media content, and advertisements that identify a product, brand, or convey a message.  The position is also responsible for creating stock imagery for social media platforms, newsletters, other promotional materials, and events as needed. The student is responsible for meeting deadlines and contributing to the team in a variety of supportive functions as needed, such as participating in special events and meetings, creating storyboards, collaborating on creative direction. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

-Talented photographer and videographer with a professional edge and the ability to develop varying content for a variety of audiences.

Student Project Manager

Job Duties:
The student project manager serves as a customer service representative for clients while managing projects behind the scenes with the Invent@NMU team. This position takes a lead role with researching product and business ideas, communication, planning, coordination, and collaboration to move client projects forward, requiring a balance of anticipating the next steps while managing details along the way. More specifically, key responsibilities include organizing and managing all aspects of projects to keep them on target, time, and budget. Accountable for reporting progress and/or issues, troubleshooting, researching options, problem-solving, planning next steps, customer service, maintaining accurate records, and effectively communicating with the staff team and clients to meet expectations. Create professional presentations and deliverables. Fill in as needed in a variety of functions to assist the staff team including participating in special events, public speaking, and promoting the Invent@NMU program. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

-Highly motivated student with a professional edge, confidence, and effective leadership abilities.

-Solid organizational and time management skills are required, along with the willingness to learn.

-Strong communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) skills are essential, along with the ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments.

-Attention to detail, initiative, creativity and proactive thinking are essential to drive the program’s innovative culture.

-Must be knowledgeable in or have the ability to learn a variety of software platforms, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite for practical application.

-Ability to perform consistently while managing multiple projects with an element of unchartered territory.

The position is open to talented students from any field of study, however, a business-minded problem-solver is best suited for this role.
