MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Innovate Marquette SmartZone is pleased to officially announce the hire of its new marketing coordinator, Kylie Bunting.
Bunting, a Marquette native and 2011 graduate of Northern Michigan University, has spent the last seven years in Chicago working at boutique public relations firms focusing on the hospitality industry.
“I was looking to move back home, and when the marketing coordinator position opened up, I knew it was the perfect opportunity. I look forward to combining the experience I gained in Chicago with my love of the U.P.,” says Bunting.
While working at Innovate Marquette SmartZone, Bunting will focus the majority of her efforts on mentoring and managing the Invent@NMU student marketing team and their support of both clients and marketing the programs. Invent@NMU, a product and business development program at Northern Michigan University, has been managed by the SmartZone since last July when the program received a MEDC grant to continue providing its support and services to Marquette and the greater Upper Peninsula through 2020.
Ray Johnson, Innovate Marquette SmartZone CEO and Invent@NMU Executive Director says, “As we’ve continued to grow and expand our operations and services in collaboration with the Invent@NMU program, it became apparent we needed someone to focus one hundred percent of their effort on marketing and communications. We’re excited to have Kylie join our team to further our client support, student mentorship, and event coordination capabilities.”
