Peak25 (a conference co-hosted by SISU at NMU & Innovate Marquette) is excited to partner with the NMU College of business to host a virtual pitch competition for all high school and college students in the U.P.! 

The Mini Pitch is a competition for U.P. students to gain experience in entrepreneurship and innovation, hosted virtually to encourage participation without the pressure of presenting on stage. After our panel of judges review the submissions, eight finalists with be chosen. Everyone will be invited to a reception on January 30th for viewing of the submissions and final judging.

Applications are open until January 16, 2025. Students can apply by submitting a video (3 minutes or less) describing their innovative product or business idea. 

Eligibility

High school and college students in the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to participate, either individually or as part of a group.

Submission Details

Video Length: Up to 3 minutes

  • Content: Briefly explain your idea, product, or business concept. No established business or formal business plan is needed. Judges are looking for creativity and originality.

  • Deadline: Submit your video by January 16th, 2024

All submitted videos will be reviewed, and 8 selected finalists will be invited to the Mini Pitch Reception on Thursday, January 30th, where the selected video submissions will be viewed and winners will be announced.

Mini Pitch Information

The Mini Pitch is designed as a low-stakes introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship. Judges are looking for creativity and originality, not feasibility. Ideas from space travel, new or altered products, new businesses and more are accepted!
